Life Celebrations & Intimate Ceremonies
Mark life's meaningful moments with bespoke ceremonies. New chapters, milestones, scattering ashes, and private rituals crafted with care by Sussex celebrant Anita.
Personal Ceremonies for Life’s Meaningful Moments WHERE EVERY STORY IS SEEN
Some of life's most meaningful moments don't come with a ready-made ritual. There's no template for marking a new beginning, honouring a private loss, or celebrating a transition that matters deeply to you. But that doesn't mean these moments should pass unwitnessed.
I create ceremonies for the in-between spaces – the chapters that deserve to be honoured, the milestones that call for intention, and the quiet moments that need to be held with care.

The Quiet Ceremony - £300
Small, soulful ceremonies for private moments.
Some moments in life don't call for an audience – they call for stillness, intention, and a gentle guiding hand. The Quiet Ceremony is designed for those deeply personal occasions where you want meaning without fuss, ritual without performance, and a sense of being held as you move through something important.
These ceremonies are intimate, tender, and crafted with the same care and storytelling as my larger ceremonies – just distilled into something quieter, softer, and beautifully personal. It's about honouring what matters to you in a way that feels safe, meaningful, and deeply human.
Perfect for:
- Scattering ashes – A gentle ceremony to say goodbye in a meaningful place
- Anniversaries – Marking a date that holds significance (happy or bittersweet)
- Home blessings – Welcoming positive energy into a new or renewed space
- Personal rituals – Releasing the past, setting intentions, or honouring a private journey
- Memorial moments – Remembering someone on a significant date
- Healing ceremonies – Creating closure after trauma, illness, or loss
- Gratitude rituals – Marking thankfulness at the end of a chapter
What's included:
- A gentle conversation to understand the moment you're marking
- A personalised script or ritual plan created just for you
- Delivery of the ceremony in your chosen location – your home, garden, favourite walk, the beach, or a quiet spot in woodland
- A keepsake script if desired
Why Mark These Moments?
Life moves quickly, and it's easy to let significant moments pass without pause. But when we take time to acknowledge where we've been and where we're going, we create meaning. We anchor ourselves. We give ourselves permission to feel, to grieve, to celebrate, to hope.
A ceremony doesn't need to be big or formal. It doesn't need an audience or a venue. It just needs to feel true. Whether you're celebrating growth, acknowledging loss, or stepping into something new, I'm here to help you mark it with care.
Adding Symbolic Elements
-
Ideas for New Chapter Ceremonies:
- Lighting a candle to represent your new beginning
- Planting something that will grow alongside your new chapter
- Writing intentions and sealing them in an envelope to open later
- Releasing something symbolic (biodegradable lanterns, flower petals, written words)
- Involving friends or family in promises or blessings
-
Ideas for Quiet Ceremonies:
- Scattering ashes with words, music, or silence
- Lighting candles for remembrance
- Creating a small memorial moment with objects or flowers
- Walking a meaningful route together
- Sharing memories or writing letters to read aloud
- Simply sitting in stillness with intention
Or we can create something completely unique to you and your moment.
Where Can These Ceremonies Take Place?
Anywhere that feels right. Your living room. Your garden. A favourite beach. A woodland clearing. The top of a hill with a view. A quiet corner of a park. The place where the ashes will be scattered. Wherever the moment belongs.
I cover West Sussex, East Sussex, Hampshire, Surrey, and parts of London. If your heart-place is somewhere further afield, let's chat – I may be able to travel.
How It Works
-
1. A Gentle Conversation
We start with a relaxed chat about what this moment means to you. What are you honouring? What do you need from this ceremony? How do you want to feel afterwards?
-
2. Crafting Your Ceremony
I'll create a ceremony or ritual plan tailored to your moment – your words, your story, your intentions. You'll review it and we'll refine it together until it feels right.
-
3. The Ceremony Itself
I'll guide you through the moment with warmth, steadiness, and care. Whether it's just you, or you with a small group of loved ones, I'll hold the space so you can simply be present.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to have guests?
Not at all. Many of these ceremonies are just for one or two people. Others involve a small group. It's entirely up to you.
How long do these ceremonies last?
Usually 15-30 minutes, though they can be shorter or longer depending on what feels right. We'll discuss the perfect length during our planning.
I'm not sure what I need – can you help me figure it out?
Absolutely. Sometimes people come to me knowing they want to mark something but not quite sure how. That's completely normal. We'll explore it together during our first conversation.
Can these ceremonies include religious elements?
Yes, if that's meaningful to you. I can weave in prayers, blessings, or spiritual elements alongside non-religious content. Whatever holds significance for you.
